Help Women In Need Of Mechanical No-how....
Hey hoping to get some advice. I have a 1996 Vectra (actually a Holden but by tag only I assume as it is German assembled) and it's giving me a few probs. Want to know if it sounds like an easy fix or if I'm going to end up spending squillions!!!!
She is a 1.7 T Diesel - yes I know diesel - and a beaut car. However she has taken to jumping out of gear. She does not like 4th gear and will jump out of it at the first available opportunity. She might let me go a few hundred metres if I'm lucky. She's also a real whining old girl now. there is a distinctive whining noise, especially when you are in 4th gear. I assume it's from the engine but really could be anything - it's definitely under the hood though!!! I know this is kind of vague but anybody got any ideas.... HELP.... |

Well, I think your gearbox is broken and you'll need a new one.
