2007 Toyota Camry Head Gasket Change
2007 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder
My daughter's car blew a head gasket. I disassembled, had the head re-worked and changed head gasket. Re-assembled everything. The car turns over, but does not start. At times it wants to fire, but never fires. Any ideas? Could timing be off and cause this? Anything else to check? |

Yep. Double check timing and spark plug wires on the right plugs.

Re: 2007 Toyota Camry Head Gasket Change
The car overheated and blew the head gasket. I also changed the thermostat and water pump while I was at it. Put it all back together and it was misfiring. Adjusted timing chain and all seems to be well, except for idling. Then changed PCV valve and cleaned throttle body. Runs great and is starting to idle better, but still dies sporadically. I am hoping it just needs to relearn the idle speed.
