Axle noise

Hey guys!

lately i've been hearing this creaky/popping noise coming from the front passenger side of my car. i only notice it at the moment i come to a complete stop, when i accelerate FROM a complete stop, and when going over speed bumps. Also (not even sure if this is related), it kinda feels like my tires lose contact with the road waaay to easily...any idea at all what this could be?

FYI:
2002 Galant ES
229,000 miles
struts replaced about 40k miles ago

Re: Axle noise

could be a bad wheel bearing or your axel itself, jack up the one side in question and try to move the wheel side to side, you should have no play at all.have you had the tierod end greased?i just greased mine on my 96 with a grease gun and it took care of alot of noises it was making.
