ECU / Capacitor problem
So the 93 vr4 has been in the garage for awhile, replaced the battery & did an oil change. Go to start it... crank but nothing.. try again.. crank & start but dies... one more time it starts up & runs for about 5 min, sounds a bit off but its been sitting for a bit, adjust idle cuz it seems off... car stays running but then idle jumps about 3-4 times, hearing a clicking from behind the head unit, car shuts off... continues to do it each time the car starts but no certain time frame. I know about the capacitors going bad, i pulled it out it has a "fish smell" looks a bit ify. However there is a rectangle near each capacitor that is also blackened... can anyone tell me what those are & or for? Also does anyone know a how to or step by step to replace them, or a video or even anyone in the NE PA area who can fix them... its either that or buy a stand alone AEM

Re: ECU / Capacitor problem
for future reference we fix them, located in Hagerstown, MD. Its not always as simple as it looks, the board must be cleaned properly and all damage removed before installing new caps. I guarantee the repairs as well.
