Door issue

I have a gap ~1/2 inch between my window and my door on the outside of my car, figured it was the trim at first but its the same length as the passenger side and it doesn't have a gap. Seems somehow my car door has spread apart. Anyone know how to fix this and why it did it.

Re: Door issue

1) Lower the window and open the door.
2) Can you mussel the door up & down?

You probably got worn door hinges, because of normal wear + tear.
Doorman in the Help center @ your local Auto Parts store, has new bushings & pins.

Re: Door issue

The body & door seal is ok, it's the window door seal!
Does the window go up & down ''ok''?
Have you ever used a slim jim tool to break in this car?

Re: Door issue

The window goes down fine and up 90% of the way ok then gets real hard to move, every time i roll it up i think I'm going to snap the handle. I got the car this way so a slim Jim may have been used on it but I have no way of knowing. Getting info out of the original owner is close to impossible.

Re: Door issue

It sounds like the orignal owner broke it!
Doe's the skin on the door look damaged, or do you think the window regulator on the inside of door is broken?

Re: Door issue

The regulator seems ok, and all the bolts are tight and nothing looks bent out of shape.

Re: Door issue

so i take it you have manual windows. do you have a cable style regulator. cause if so i have seen them fray and cause the window not to open/close all the way.

Re: Door issue

take the window out or off the clip and see how the motor preforms without the strain of the weight. if it moves no problem you need a new motor. i have had my cable frey inside the pully and only let the window open so far. so try that and see what you get
