Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
This is my new project.... I need to paint and glue something.... not only to finish my kits started many years ago... This kit has not the tamiya standard but even if it shows some poor enginering you may find excellent details. The chain is not sharp and the exhaust is not smooth, it needs a good sanding job

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Some pictures:
cause of the wind outside I lost the oil plug so I made a new one: better than nothing The clutch connection on the engine is missing so I tried to replicate one copying the top studio one: a steel cable for trinkets (google translation...) is used to simulate the clutch cable, it goes inside the vynil fujimi tube thinner than tamiya one Painted the rear damper; it's only one piece so I used different colors to improve it: painted the disks improved the radiator. I will place the mesh on the inside too, as it will be visible through the side fairing placed the carbon fiber on 2 engine carters to do all things I spent one week... |

About the forks:
as the copper color (reflective) is very difficult to reproduce I decided to cut them and place a copper tube instead |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Hi Andrea - you really are doing the best job so far on the ZX-10R - there are two other being built on the forum, but you have the best skills of the builders. I really like what you have done so far - excellent attention to detail as usual with your work. What company and part number is the "mesh screen" you are using on the Radiator? I want to get some of that type. I bought the Top Studio detail kit for when I build mine - I will follow you thread and wonderful work. Oh by the way an excellent job on the brakes - very realistic looking - John

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Thanks John, the radiator mesh is
http://www.hlj.com/product/FNMAE-16 from Fine Molds.... it's not easy to find, I wrote to Finemolds and they told me to order anyway from HLJ even if it's out of stock... I will try... |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Some progress,
placed the disks on the wheel: placed the rear whell, the chain apart the details it's not too bad... I placed a bulb into the headlight, there was a little bad "knob"... and placed a "rubber boot" behind the headlight for the electrical connection removed the little oil tank on the left handle (the clutch is mechanic) and filled some holes.... |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
As usual for you, excellent attention to detail Andrea. Did you find it difficult to assemble the parts? some of the builders have said that because there are no screws to assemble the pieces it can be difficult. I like the touches you have added to the headlight. The wheel and disc look amazingly real. So far your build is very clean. - John

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Hello John, it's not a tamiya kit approach, it's like a transkit approach.... test fitting everithing. In fact I have not started the fairing yet because you have to sand , align, putting etc....
In the meanwhile the engine is placed into the frame.... |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Excellent start Andrew, the placement of carbon fiber and the lamp in the lighthouse gave a special touch mounting, congratulations.

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Received today the yellow Zx-10R .... I was surprised to find into the box a p.e. sheet....
The only question is: is it possible fujimi forgot the shift linkage and made the p.e. gear lever with the same strange pin on the lower side? Will not be true the linkage is missing on the real bike???? |
