You still don't get it? You got yourself totally backwards on how fast you will be going with what is registering on your speedo. My winter tires are the stock 14's with 185/60/14, I usually run with my 16's (215/40/16). I haven't done an "offical" test, but every speed radar sign I've driven past always tells me I'm doing 2-3 MPH under what is showing up on my speedo. That's just the facts of life if you don't get your speedo reset. But hey who wants to spend that money or time, just know your limits.

ok, sorry if this has been proved but i lookd over only the first page and saw that it was still confising people and dont want to re3ad 3 pages to find out my info isnt needed.

if the outside diameter of the wheel/tire package is the same as it used to be, then your speedometer will still be accurate(maybe off a few MPH, but not much) my friedn got 16s on his civic and should have had 205/45/16's, but wanted lower pro tires and got 205/40/16s and his speedometer was off by I think it was about 8-10MPH at like 80. but go to les schwab if they are in your areathey have a book of all the diff kinds of cars and what packeges you need to keep stock O.D. of course if you got 24's then they are bigger than your 13's with tires, but I HIGHLY HGIHLY doubt that on your lil ass 13" rims the tire sidewalls are only 2 inches. most cars i see with 14's even have like 3.5+ sidewalls.

keep in mind that speed is measured on transmission i belive. so if you have a bigger diametar tire and wheel your wheel will be turning slower but covering more distance. that is just like changing gear ratios which will lower your rpms. since your rpms will be lower for any gear, the speedo will show a couple miles lower since it is taking its information from the transmition.

yeah, but the whole deal on rims is to get a bigger rim and les tire and keeping the stock outside diameter.

Hello Experts,

I have a Honda Accord Coupe (07) with original wheel size 16 and tire size 205/60 R16. Currently there is no modification on the vehicle.

I am planning on putting bigger wheels that is 18X8 (50mm offset) with tire size 225/50 R18.

I have the following questions:

> Will this wheel and tire fit in without any alteration?
> Will this have any major impact on the overall performance of the vehicle?
