Re: max speed in ur car?

The car was being sold on behalf of Peter Lawn, His name is in the mag, he is the guy who sold me this car through a dealer, he had also given me the option to buy the 3000gt, original license plates for extra cost in which I refused.

Re: max speed in ur car?

Ok, easy to fix this.

I rang Ralliart NZ, and talked to Ron McMillin. The guy who built the car.
Its very, VERY real.
It was never turned into a race car because it weighs around 1600kgs, and boiled the brake fluid after only 10 laps of Pukekohe (local track). So there was never a cage etc fitted to it.
It did do a Canon ball run in northern Australia, but was stolen from a shipping container after failing to complete the event, and driven through a fence before being recovered, hence the face lifted body kit thats been fitted, after it had been completely stipped and turned into its current form.
It was originally the second GTO sold new in NZ, so had a long history with Mitsubishi Ralliart, starting with simple mods, before its huge rebuild.
Ron remembered it was making 450hp when he last saw it, down from the 530 it originally made.

Ralliart 3000gt I suggest you ring them (numbers in the book) and ask them about the car with a note pad in hand.
It's been driven around Puke' by Own Evens, and turned in 1'10sec times with road tyres on. He remembers an amazing number of details about the car, and all of its history.

i've seen it happen, i have friends in the tuning industry who've told me about it. they don't use it in their cars because they have no need to do 200 in second. they'd have use shorter ratios and get better acceleration. of course, that is case-dependant.

i'm not doubting you, but out of curiousity, what engine did the escort have, what power was it making and how many gears did the 'box have?

my friend's brother has a tuning company, and he put a stroked 2.2-litre Cosworth YBT engine in a mk.2 for a guy to compete in rallying or something. the 872kg kerb weight and 440bhp contributed to a mental mk.2...

No offence, Moppie.

i don't doubt the existence of a/the ralliart tuned 3000GT in question. i'm sure it does exist. mostly from the article about it.

what i do doubt is that ralliart3000gt owns that can.

It had the old 1600 kent cross flow in it. The box was of course an old Anglia 4sp
With 190hp and about 750kg dry weight, it was also a pretty mental Eskie.

Oh, and by the way, with regards to Ralliart 3000gt's 3000GT, your WRONG!

It's very much the same car, Ron McMillin described it exactly has Ralliart 3000gt has. He even mentioned that it was sold on a Yard in Greenlane.
Its kind of scary that a 20 year old is driving such a powerful car, but its very real.

Re: max speed in ur car?

Just for the sake of those just tuning in...

Are we arguing about whether or not his car actually makes 530hp?

Or that is can go xxx mph?

And finally, why is this going on 6 pages long?
