2003 S-10 Auxilary Audio?
I have a 2003 S-10 with the stock CD Player. On the player, it has a button with "CD" and below that "AUX". 2 lines of text on one button. I thought hey, cool I can hook my iPod up to my stock player insted of buying a new one. But when I took it out I didn't see any recognizable audio ports. I did see a plug that had 2 rows of pins, but I forget the amount of pins. I will check later today and post that, if it will help. Anyway, I was just wondering if there was some kind of adapter I could buy that would let me hook an auxilary input into that?
Also, does anyone know of a 2003 S-10 wiring diagram? I am installing a remote entry system, and something similar to that would be helpful. I just need to know where to connect to the horn, parking lights and dome lights. If not, I can probably figure it out. Thanks! |

the AUX is for the "tape player".. you have to got a car kit, which will include a charger for the battery, and a cassette looking adapter. put the adapter into cassette slot, and hold AUX for a few seconds.

Re: 2003 S-10 Auxilary Audio?
No.... Simply get a PIE adapter from www.crutchfield.com... This will give you 2 rca inputs (left and right) You can jack in any item you want, external sat PNP unit, ipod, walkman, et-al via a 1/8th stereo mini>>dual male rca adapter (4 bux at radio shack) Once the PIE adapter is pluged in, the AUX will use the input from those lines.
Here's the link http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jz1sXuM...rch=GM+and+AUX

You can also use the aux for a cd changer.

Thanks, that is precisely what I was looking for. I think. According to Crutchfield network, that will not fit a 2003 s-10...but it sounds right to me. I will check and make sure my input it 10 pin. *EDIT* After some research I found out that I need the GM12-AUX *EDIT* After looking at this thing, it seems to me to be an expensive wire. Doesn't it just take like 4 of the 12 pins and hook them into RCA jacks? If so, does anyone know which four pins? I would much rather make my own then spend 70 dollars. Thanks. |
