HELP LHS Starting issues PROB easy fix

I have a 1994 LHS Runs awesome started having issues when i go to start it, it went from starting like new to having to turn the key on, off, on, off, on, off, on (like it had no power to starter but all the dash lights worked fine cleaned turminals not it). I change the black box all the ignition wires go, have also change the ignition switch. Once i drive it may start right up then shut it off next time, takes 10-15 times to even crank, like it has nothing then all the sudden the starter takes off. When it is turning over doesnt sound like the starter is bad sound real good turning over. Once it is turning starts right up just wont turn. Hope this isnt to confusing. Help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Re: HELP LHS Starting issues PROB easy fix

Its the starter. The starter motor itself might be fine, but the solenoid attached to it goes bad and it won't engage the juice to the starter. You might hear it referred to as a "bendix" in your research.

Best thing to do is replace the starter. If you're worried about testing it first, use a voltmeter to test and make sure you're getting 12v to the starter when you turn the key. If you're getting 12v and its not cranking, its the starter.
