Re: RB26DETT vs 2JZ-GTE
My preference: RB26DETT with full out racing internals, huge turbos, massive injectors, open exhaust, etc. I just love the damn rev-happy machine that is this Nissan beast. Having a fully modded block that allows 10k redline on a 2.6L I6 engine, makes for one hell of a ride.

Re: RB26DETT vs 2JZ-GTE
2JZ is a square motor like the SR20DET, it makes good torque and revs freely. It is also capable of 800Hp on stock internals
The RB26 is a good engine also but to get similiar power to the 2JZ, you need rebuilt internals which makes it a more expensive motor to modify. However, if you were to compare the OS Giken RB30DETT(a long stroke RB26 with head to block spacer) with the 2JZ, they would be almost identical engines. Too hard to compare them being apples and oranges but I love the Nissan motor a little more. Toyota Supra engine bays are a pain to work on... The 1JZ-GTE is a much better motor than an RB25DET, that is for sure

Re: RB26DETT vs 2JZ-GTE
Of caurse 2JZ-GTE! These are the reasons,
2JZ-GTE 0-60mph(0-100km/h) 4.9sec Top Speed 167mph(270km/h) 320bhp twin turbo 3.0L inline 6 cylinder engine. RB26DETT 0-60mph(0-100km/h)5.4sec Top Speed 155mph(250km/h) 276bhp twin turbo 2.6L inline 6 cylinder. you'll see that.4WD owns but the supra with the RWD has better acceleration.LOL? |

Re: RB26DETT vs 2JZ-GTE
Both ARE terrific engines. What are you putting them in to? If it's a Toyota....go 2jz. If it is a Nissan, go rb. It's just a lot simpler that way. I had a 55 Chevy I would have loved dropping an RB26 into.
