Question Will suspension lift cause damage??

Hey all, new to the forum.

I'm looking at a '02 Tacoma (SR5, TRD, 40k miles) with a 3" body lift, and a 3" Trailmaster suspension lift. It sits on 35" X 12.5" tires. The front-left CV boot has a small tear in it, and some grease has escaped. Is this a by product of the suspension lift? How hard is this lift arrangement going to be on the powertrain? It's a V6 w/5 speed.

Thanks fellas!

Install some manual hubs ands keep them unlocked on road. This will prevent further damage. Other than that, you can check to see if steering and suspension angles are close to stock, tire wear will help determine this as well.

The drivetrain will handle the 35s no problem, but driveability will suffer unless the differentials have been re-geared. (to 4.88 or 5.29:1) The 3" suspension lift will not be kind to: CV boots, ball joints, suspension down-travel. Check the grease boots on all ball joints to check for leaks, and drive it on some bouncy roads to listen for thumping noises. CV boots aren't that hard to repair, but having no suspension down-travel will make for a worse ride off-road.
