What are good and Bad cars?

Ok so my daughter is buying her first car herself and I always went to my dad who is no longer with us sadly. What I am asking. ok for example I had a 2013 Nissan Sentra(totaled). Now While Nissan was known for reliable cars good mechanics etc when they changed to the CVT transmission, that reputation went downhill. I got my 2013 Nissan in 2014 and had to replace the transmission in 2016. I also had a 99 ford Windstar(shitstar) that had more recalls than any vehicle I've had and constant issues.
Nissan's warranty transfers between owners. So as long as the factory warranty is still in affect, no matter how many owners in that short time, the warranty still stands.
I was told Honda does not do this or rather they claim to but do not honor it.
So what I need to know is, What are good cars that are reliable not money pits and the warranty follows the car not just the first owner?
I also need to know what cars, suvs etc to stay away from for instance lots of issues with vehicle, lot of recalls, warranty not transferable etc. My daughter wants a mustang but those are rear wheel drive muscle cars and I'm trying to find an alternative because I don't want my daughter in another accident that she may not survive.

Re: What are good and Bad cars?

Basically I was to help her select a safe, reliable, nice looking car with a warranty(not extended junk) that will not jack her insurance up to holy heck. She's going on 19 so her insurance will already be high. Thank you anyone who has any knowledgeable advise.

Re: What are good and Bad cars?

i would advice to go with any toyota or ford cars, both are reliable especially if you are looking for under budget durable vehicles.

What French cars do you find in Wichita, or do you expect the original poster to find in Ohio?

Re: What are good and Bad cars?

For a newer driver that might not pay much attention to maintenance, for new I'd get a Toyota with no turbo and no CVT.

Older? Honda with the 2.4L 4 cylinder.

A bad car would be....."Christine" Ba-dump pshhh.

Re: What are good and Bad cars?

I would avoid cars with "bad" engines that may break down and cost a lot of money to fix them.
