2003 MDX mileage

Is anyone else having issues with low mileage (compared to what the EPA estimates are) with their 2003 MDX?

I got about 22 mpg on a recent highway trip up the east coast (driving quite "spiritedly") but my wife gets something like 14 on mixed city and highway everyday driving.

I've had all the oils changes and use good quality 93 gas.... don't know what else to do.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I get 14 MPG on the way to work and 11Mpg on the way home
I just figure it comes with the territory. It takes me 40 Min. to go 8.7 miles and it's on a 55mph hwy with stoplights. It takes a lot of gas to get that thing up to 65mph just so I can slam on my breaks 1/2 a mile up at the next red light .

This is atleast what I have been attributing to the poor gas mileage. On the hwy I got 21 Mpg.

Re: 2003 MDX mileage

I hear ya! I live in the D.C. area and our traffic is as bad as it gets. My 17 mile commute takes 1.5 hours - on a good day!

You are probably right about the mpg. I guess my MDX isn't the only one guzzling gas.... I still want it checked out at the dealer to make sure.

Thanks for the help!

If you don't have a check engine light on, there is very little the dealer can do.
