What is the real year of my TR6?

I have a question. I know that there is a difference when buying parts as early 1974 1/2 or late 1974 1/2. I was looking at my title and that states 1974 but when I check out the body drivers door plate it has Manufactured March 1975? The ID number on the title, body plate and the tag on the winshield are all the same manufacturer's ID number. Seems strange that the car is maufactured in 1975 but is tagged as a 1974. Is there some other validation I can look at to validate? Is there any physical /mechanical difference between a 1974 and a 1975 as a quick check? Thanks

It could be the door is not original to your car. Perhaps it has been replaced (rust or collision damage) with a 1975 door, at some point in the past.

Otherwise, I don't think that backdating a 1975 car to a 1974 model year could ever happen, particularly with US-sold cars for emissions legislation reasons.

Re: What is the real year of my TR6?

Good point --- the ID Plate is located on the drivers side door post below the striker --is that where it should be? The ID plate has the month/yr (3/75) manufactured and the Reg number. The title has the same reg number as the plate but as a 1974 model . Even if someone changed the post or door , the part I am stuggling about is the plate reg number matches title and the windshield tag matches plate and title. That is why I was hoping to see if there is a few specific items that differ on those 1974 to 1975 year models..

The '74 tr6 has the front turn signals in the lower valance whereas the '75 has amber and white turn signals under the front bumpers. Beyond that, they are pretty much the same.
