Feel like a newb (puts on flame proof suit)
I just cant figure this out. I have a single Pioneer TS-W303DVC (Diamond plate cone) and a Sony XM-1002HX (1ohm switchable). Have figured out the sub needs to be wired either 2 ohm or 8 ohm but nothing is telling me power outputs and places i've looked have different specs. Can someone help me out? Thanks in advance

Re: Feel like a newb (puts on flame proof suit)
we don't flame here ...
looks like the amp is only 2 ohm stable when bridged, power specs can be confusing because there are actually no official rules for doing so. Looks like around 250 real watts RMS, plenty for pushing a single sub. Looks like you have to put the amp in "high current mode" for lower impedance load. As for the sub, to wire it into 2 ohms, you wire both +'s together and both -'s together. The sub says 500 watts max, which is roughly 250 watts RMS. see the 2nd link on how to wire your sub, look for the one titled "1 DVC driver with Voice Coils in Parallel" http://www.carsound.com/reviews/amps/xm1002hx.html http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=161 |
