1990 vandura 350 auto runs rich
I start my van and it starts to flood and run very rich to where it stalls out.
I started it the other day , ran ok for 5 min and then started to miss and then stall out. I have a manual switch for the fuel pump and by turning it on and off, i can keep it running. help, Where do I look first/ What controlls the fuel flow? thanks Den |

No easy answer here, excess fuel pressure, bad injector, bad coolant temp sensor all can cause this. THE cts is the most common issue here, a scanner would tell you if the pcm temp readings are accurate. If not replace the cts.

update:
yes it is tbi. I took out the injectors and powered them on the bench and sprayed carb cleaner in the pintel. Reinstalled and seems to work fine. Van has been sitting all winter and I ran it for 1/2 hr monthly. Maybe old fuel as well. Thanks for the replies. Dennis |
