Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

Dont rip that E-brake to hard
You can break the cable or your brakes(dont mean to ruin your fun)

Dont forget the reverse donuts

Just watch out for polls either wazy,
ask grfnkl about those

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

It's already very VERY cold here now today. My office area feels like a refridgerator.... I think it's time for my space heater! LOL other then today we had a few cold blasts, and some real warm blasts as well. I really do want some snow though.

Oh yeah thanx Xi for the pole reminder. LOL Come to think about it I've hit 2 poles. the "big" accident with the 02 into a telephone pole and i did bump a pole with my 88 in an icy parking lot. All i can say was it was icy i was trying to park and I slid backwards into the light post. left a little scratch on the back fender otherwise nothing.

Gir: becareful with those e-brake pulls. I did that once, for actually emergency reasons.... and my rear brake kept binding up after that. and watch out for poles they might just jump out and hit you. hahahah.

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

revisiting the donut idea.... It's TONS of fun to do them on snow and ice. nothing like multiple spins. and the best part is if someone parks on a ice you can move their car. HAHAHHA a buddy of mine and myself moved his friends camaro while he was in the store we worked at, at that time.

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

Hey grfnkl , make sure the space heatr is like 1200watts

Those things just eat electricty
(which you dont have to pay for )

I love doing donuts in RWD cars and sliding around..
I miss that!
The cars that I have that are rwd,
I wouldnt be driving in the winter let alone on the snow/Ice

That last little snow we had I saw some kid doing reverse nuts and he hit a car
It was awsome though

Hey you guys check out the Tips and Maintenance Sub-Forum.
I'm working on more stuff, with pics.

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

XI: I'm not sure how much my space heater puts out... all i can say though is if I leave it on too long i blow the breaker for half our restaurant and our refridgerators for our wine/beer storage ( not as if it matters in there anyways since the heat doesn't work)

I never had the experience of doing donuts in a RWD car. Most I've done was in a FWD car in the snow... some on purpose and well some not. Beaters are teh best to mess around with, cuz if anything happens you just don't feel as bad. Even better when it's someone elses car!!!

Well stay warm, I know I'm trying!

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

On the blowing breakers

I'd much rather lay outside on the ground when its 30,
then when its 50 and rainy/muddy
As I do on any given day. Gotta do what you gotta do

RWD are just funner all together.
I like gravel too(if you can fight the dust off, and not get choked out) especially in a someone elses car
The last time I did gravel, I was going about 65-70,
In the SE, and I couldnt out run the dust :scewy:

Kinda scarred the sheit outa the passengers

Becarefull out there everyone!

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

IT"S GONNA SNOW HERE!!!!!! WOHOO!!!! they are calling for about 2inches of a slushy snowy mess! I really shouldn't be excited for this but HEY it's SNOW! I have to say i think that jumpy crazy smiley has to be one of my top favorites. Probably since that's how i get after some really good news... or a good cappucino! LOL

I've had limited fun driving RWD cars. My dad's Saturn is RWD and my moms old Grand Marquis was RWD. But i never have had the oppurtunity to do anything crazy with them.
Now on to this out running dust. Are you talking about going fast enough that the dust is way behind your car vs. right ontop of your car? I can say I've tried that... and sort of did this yesterday, ( not on purpose) this was on a backroad in the factory area where all the trucks tracked so much dirt on the road it's like driving on a dirt road... so i did a nice dust trail behind myself.

well enjoy the day guys, what's left of yours.

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

we got SNOW! WOHOO! it's only about an inch, with some ice underneath it, so it was slippery as hell this morning. So i wasn't able to have the true experience of driving the 6 in the snow this morning.. but did have some fun with the ice though...! My fiance wasn't though she was apparently getting all the icy spots and kept sliding around this morning in her acura. So I got the unhappy phone call instead. Now i want more snow! Well enjoy your days guys... I'm heading out to do some "sales" stuff... ( in actuallity I'm going to apply to jobs and have some lunch ) LOL Gotta love it!

Later

Doing sales is Lunch opcorn:

We havent gotten any more snow, just the 1-2" from the other night. I thought we were supposed to get more sun-mon

On the out running the dust, I meant keeping it off the car. Like you said with the trail way behind you.
So the suckers behind have to drive 5 mph because they cant see Damn I'm a prick!

Very true, sales is lunch!

Well the day we got that snow in the morning of about an inch, we got another freak blast of snow that night of about an inch. Tonight into tomorrow they are saying ice, freezing rain, sleet and snow mix. it's supposed to be very bad tomorrow morning. Then another bad day like that on thursday. I guess we are finally getting our snow!

I understand now about the dust. I can't quite say i was able to keep it off my car... but then again there are sooo many buildings underconstruction by me it's pretty tough. Oh well... it makes it fun to run through and leave the could behind you!

Well back to enjoying my sunday...

here's a pic of how dirty my G6 is from the construction and now the salt from the roads....

In the background you can see my neighbors POS thunderbird... which is literally rotting away.

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

We got about 2-3" lastnight sometime.
I was up till 2am and it wasnt snowing, but at 7am thier was snow

I played a bit in the GT. It wasnt enough snow for real fun.
Though I did the Ebrake thing, carefully! Spun a few reverse nuts

Now I'm ready for more

Dont forget , two big playoff football games today
Go COLTS!

Edit>

Well I had to go sledding
The snow this morning was light and fluffy.
Now the temps are up and its packing well

The kids built some stuff;
A Homely paraplegic
Snowman

Then they changed it to a Fort (for dodging snow balls ).

Here's a couple mutts.

I just need a little more to play in my 98' Dakota Sport

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

looks like my GA all dirtied up... hate it -_- ... right when the ice was gone I went to the car wash for a quickie and washed that crap off

03 santa fe v6, (I know nothing about this car, but its my moms lol) This morning I had to help her start it... My first try, it was turning, battery was fine, but it was like not getting enough of something... but it was trying really hard... I pumped the gas pedal rapidly opening the TB on/off and went faster... and got it to start up... not sure how the IAC works on it but im sure pretty close to the same... I think it might of been gummy or stuck, after I had started it was idling way below normal so I gave it a few good revs and it was ok afterwards

I need to clean the IAC area on my car for sure, I never cleaned inside where it goes when I changed it out w/ the new.

Other than that, I just love the line... "Well I could take YOUR car to work..." (the GA) YEA RIGHT!

I really think she'd have to much fun in it lol
