95 Camry tranny dipstick
I just bought this car, and the tranny dipstick has something I've never seen before. The tube is curved, which makes it somewhat difficult to get the dipstick in and out. But there's also a little curved/hooked part at the very tail end of the dipstick. I'm concerned that I may be forcing it to go in at an angle that it's not supposed to. It takes significant force to get it in all the way. The top of the dipstick has a little plastic rounded part--one side has English, and the other side has Japanese. Does anybody know which side is supposed to be facing me when I put it in? Currently, the English side is facing me, which means that the full/add marks are also facing me when I pull it out.

Re: 95 Camry tranny dipstick
I might be wrong, most dipsticks are a little hard to go in, Because your dipstick is straight, and the tube usually has a curve in it. So pushing the dipstick in, usually involves forcing the dipstick to bend or curve some.

You're over thinking it.
