Re: Blazers must suck

You can not judge a vehicle simply by the number of posts. I keep my 2000 4wd Blazer for a reason -- because I absolutely need to travel in the snow. In many ways, it's more like a powertool than a normal vehicle. I use my Chevy Cobalt for everyday driving now, but expect to keep the Blazer for a long-long time. And a Blazer is far from a status vehicle, so the people who own them, like me, tend to be more of the "wrench-turning" type do many of the repairs themselves, hence the frequent posts. Compare that to some soccer mom who buys a stylish $40,000+ SUV that doesn't even have any off-road capability. If this type of person has any problems with the vehicle, it's going straight to the dealer and you won't see much in the way of posts about it. Same with the SUV's sold by Hyundai and KIA. People who buy these vehicles don't seem to be as likely to be the do-it-yourself types as is the average Chevy Blazer owner. So keep those repair posts coming because they have saved me countless hours of time and aggravation, and hopefully my experiences and insights over the years have helped a few people as well.

Amen Brother. These Trucks have the most posts because they are the most popular and they are worth fixing, Not like a foreign throw away. Money pits, Absolutely, but they are also the backbone of the work force, and I certainly don't mind helping out the average Joe with a bit of advice. Hell, someday I might even get one right.

Re: Blazers must suck

if anyone noticed i did say i love them and i love mine, but lately i'm startin' to think if your not a mechanic don't own one unless your gonna sell it when the warranty is up. one annoying thing about blazers is, and if you own one you'll know what i'm talkin about, driving down the road and you hit a bump or pothole it sounds like the truck is gonna collapse and the wheels are gonna fall off. i've had two blazers and they were both like that, and i know a couple people with blazers who know what i'm talkin about and we joke about this. oh yeah how about the squeaky rear window. but i still do love mine i just gotta fix some things right now. so take it easy people i'm not pickin on you kids or dissin' your wife it's just a car

Actually, my 2000 Blazer sounds pretty solid over the bumps -- the WIFE, on the other hand, IS getting a little squeaky and creaky...

Dude, Not a problem. But your truck shouldn't sound like a crap if you hit a bump. Post up a problem and give us a shot at it. You may need some front end work and/or shocks. I have owned an '89, '93, 2000, and a 2001 and none of them sounded or acted like that. As far as the squeeky rear window, I sprayed a little WD-40 into a rag and wiped down the rubber weather stripping all the way around the window and mine went away.

We promise not to tell her that. What is said on the Forum, stays on the Forum.
