Know of APM (AutoPlaceModel24) Kits?
Hi!
Do any of you guys know of APM Models? Or AutoPlaceModel24? They make/made kits and transkits mainly in 1/18 and 1/24. Mostly Ferrari or related and To pretty a high standard. Many different kits have been made but very few can be found on eBay and the like. Are they out of business? Or are the a "sporadic" manufacturer like some others? Usually when someone tangles with the Ferrari brand without an official licence itīs only a matter of time before they have to stop. Like the previous 1/24 and 1/20 kits of MFH for instance. Which makes me think this might be the case with APM as well. Some links to give you an idea of what I refer to... http://www.ebay.ph/itm/FERRARI-F50-I...-/151960275534 http://www.miniwerks.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1773 http://www.ebay.ie/itm/281771942233 If you know anything please share. Best regards!

Re: Know of APM (AutoPlaceModel24) Kits?
Many years ago now I have dealt with them. Very nice people and always responded to emails. I bought a 1/12th Ferrari F50 transkit for the Tamiya diecast to convert it into the GT car. It was about this same time that they started doing more built up work. Very expensive high quality stuff. The model I remember them working on last was a conversion of the Minichamps McLaren F1 GTR. I tried desperately to get them to sell me a kit but they were not interested. They wanted to sell me a completed model. I might have done it but I couldn't afford it at the time. After that I lost interest and touch with them so I'm not really sure if they are still in business. My dealings with them had to be 8-10 years ago or so now.

Re: Know of APM (AutoPlaceModel24) Kits?
Last kit i bought from them was years ago and it was the 1/24 458 GT2. Quality is decent. I've always wanted the 1/12 F50 transkit (too late to ever get one) and was eyeing the 1/12 599XX when it first came out. Haven't heard any new products from them since.

Dealt with him several times. Nice guy. He actually made me a copy of the sold out kit because I asked him (or maybe sold from the stash, doesn't matter, I guess).
