check engine light/po341

My wifes 2000 s-type 4.0 with 81k miles is showing code po341. The only drivability problem is an occasional surge, or buck at hwy speed. My generic code reader shows this to be cam position sensor. Has anyone had this problem, and if you have what is the fix?

Re: check engine light/po341

when you say you had the same problem do you mean you had the code, and if so, how can a strut cause a dtc of this nature?

Re: check engine light/po341

I also have a 2000 s-type 4.0l and have the same p0341 code. I have had 2 shops tell me it is the cam position sensor and 1 or both sensors may need replacing. The car drives as normal so i have not had sensors replaced. BTW I have had this code for 10 months now. please let me know if you have solved your problem yet.

Re: check engine light/po341

have not repaired mine just yet. The car does surge and buck every now and then on the hwy. I do have 2 other codes that poped up but I cannot remember what they are at this time. I am sure they are related. My ses light is on constant and does not blink, so I am hoping I have some time to figure this out before causing damage, or worse yet, paying the jag shop to fix it for me. Thanks for your reply, and if any one has some input please reply.
