Re: stage 2 wastegate or kinetic wastegate

The stage 2 is cool if you want to have a lil less part throttle boost, and get beat by anyone running a different wastegate. Kinetics X2.

Re: stage 2 wastegate or kinetic wastegate

Depends on whether you want to have pcm controlled boost or not.

Re: stage 2 wastegate or kinetic wastegate

What I would do is connect 1 vacuum line inbetween the back of the turbo and the wastegate...and set the boost for 16psi spike and/or hold. If I remember correctly you would be getting rid of the black and green lines(you'll have to double check).

Re: stage 2 wastegate or kinetic wastegate

I think for the 05 you remove the red and green, run one directly from the turbo to the wastegate. I think you might have to put a bleeder in the white one too. The flutter is part throttle boost (ptb) it is bad. You have to learn how to drive your car to avoid this. So from now you leave lights like a granny or burn the tires off first and second. It is worth it if you do any sort of drag raceing, street or strip.

Re: stage 2 wastegate or kinetic wastegate

To make this simple... take off the black line that was originally on the wastegate...
Run the green line to it, you can use 1/4 inch vacuum hose.
The white line that runs under the air intake, you can put a bleeder on it to help with check engine lights and make it more lean.
If you are a new driver, preferably set the boost so second gear does not loose traction.
Other wise set it so third gear pulls as hard as it can without slipping.

Re: stage 2 wastegate or kinetic wastegate

fm wastegate is the best for little to no part throttle boost. You still use the factory lines, it just has a stiffer spring but the pcm will learn the curve of most of your mods so i would suggest a diablo sport and call it a day.

No No NO the white line to you tip sensor needs a bleed cause it monitors the boost before the TB and the MAP sensor give the pcm boost after the TB if those differ to much at part throttle it gives you a cel (check engine light) p0234 over boost condition() and bleeding boost has no afect on the fuel. So remember if you start fooling sensors to the pcm it cant tell if there is somthing wrong and cant save its self. So unless your a big turbo or running a external WG keep the pcm in control of boost. Like stated before Get a DSP you can add fuel boost and timming and data log pulls to watch knock for 375 bucks. Go to RAGE TEK

Couldn't have said it better myself. Forward motion FTW.

Re: stage 2 wastegate or kinetic wastegate

I never noticed that much from the aftermarket wastegate ACTUATORS cause that's what you're really talking about. It's not the actual wastegate. The stock turbo is internally wastegated. When I say I did not notice much, nothing I could not attain with a well made boost controller. Now I have an aftermarket turbo anyway. Check out srtforums.com if you want tons of info on this car.
