93 cutlass engine (3300) into a 96 cutless (3100)

I have a 1993 cutless ciera with a 3300 motor. And was wondering if it would fit in to a 1996 Cutless ciera with a 3100 engine. And would all the computor stuff hook up to it? The 1996 with the 3100 has spun a bearing. Would i have to put a complete crank kit in it? And do you drop the engine out the bottom or pull it out the top? Thanks, Dave

Welcome to AF. Even if you can do this, the pcm, harnesses and probably the tranmissions are different and the 3300 is not as good a performing engine. I wouldn't do this, personally. If the car is worth it, look for used engine, much easier job.

If this is the cheapest way out for you, go for it. But you'll need the ECM's and harnesses. And use the 3300's tranny. Engine can go up or down, hood needs to be removed if you go up.

Definitely try to use as much from the donor car as you possibly can.
