95 Astrovan Differential gear ratio
What's the easiest and least expensive way to change my 95 Astrovan (4.3L eng with auto trans) rear end gear ratio from the stock 373 over to a 273 gear ratio to help get better freeway gas mileage. I had a full size chevy van with 273 gears and loved it.

Re: 95 Astrovan Differential gear ratio
The easiest method is probably installing a complete axle. You may not be able to find an axle with 2.73s, however. That may also be the least expensive, considering the cost of a new carrier, ring and pinion, bearings, shims, crush sleeve, and the cost to have it properly set up for side clearance, pinion depth, and preload.
