96 Esteem timing question
I'm trying to fix the timing on my girlfriend's car, a 96 esteem with a 1.6L SOHC 16 valve. All my chilton manual says is "make sure the timing marks are lined up". The cam has two marks on it, an E and an I. On the crank there is one punch mark for TDC on piston one. What I need to know is which mark needs to be lined up on the cam?

Re: 96 Esteem timing question
Hi, I have a 99 Esteem but I believe the procedure is the same.
Go to my website: http://home.comcast.net/~lj_robins/99suzuki/ and click on BELTS then TIMING BELT, it tells you what you need to know. |
