Need advise about license suspention
I'm trying to get ideas before I my license suspention hearing next month. A buddy told me to drive to Arizona and get a new one before the old gets taken. Does anyone know if this would even work?

Re: Need advise about license suspention
In many cases, a suspension is a suspension regardless of state; however it depends on the reciprocal agreements between the states.
If you don't currently live in AZ, and show up in court with an AZ license, they're going to ask you why you hadn't had your license switched over; also, a sharp cop will ask what happened to the license you showed him. It's probably best not to open up that Pandora's Box of questions, and make sure you have a good defense for the ticket in question. With some more information about why you're going to court we might be able to offer some better suggestions.

Re: Need advise about license suspention
In some states you can apply for a hardship license to get back and forth to work. You'd be wise to bring a lawyer with you, he can advise on what you need to apply for a hardship license.

Re: Need advise about license suspention
Glad to help, again I can't stress the importance of a lawyer enough. If you have other things like tickets to deal with, they can often cut a deal with the DA and get some of them tossed out.
Plus it really separates the men from the boys when you bring a lawyer to court. You get instant respect from the court when you show up with one. Wear a nice shirt (tucked in!) and pants and maybe a tie. Good luck, Bob |
