2002 Ford Windstar LX P0430

I changed the check engine light bulb. Now it stays on. While I was at Advance Auto Parts to get the light bulb, I told the guy to do a diagnosis and what came back was a P0430 code. What do I do now to fix this problem?

Thank you

Personally I would hook a scan tool that can read live data of the upstream and downstream O2 sensors to see how they are performing. Post results.

I went back to Advance Auto Parts and the guy said he couldn't read the upstream, downstream. Code P0174 came up, P0171 as well.

P0171 & P174 are lean bank codes, do a search on the Windstar section and you will find many threads with useful info. Has the P0430 reappeared

How many miles have you driven since the P0430 Code has been erased???
To see the 02 sensor readings you will need to either buy a live data scanner or find someone that has one to help you.

Ok, will check. Thanks. The P0430 code did not appear on the scanner.

I drove like 25 miles. I will try to see about the live data scanner.

Re: 2002 Ford Windstar LX P0430

A code P0430 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

-The Bank 2 catalytic converter is no longer functioning properly
-An Bank 2 oxygen sensor is not reading (functioning) properly
-There is an exhaust leak in Bank 2

The other codes (P0171 & P0174) are lean codes (as previously stated).
The site www.obd-codes.com explains what the codes mean, possible causes, and potential fixes.

Lean codes are often caused by vacuum leaks in the manifold system. They can come from a bad seal or gasket, but many times they are from a disconnected hose or a out of spec mass air flow sensor (MAF). Check the easist things and focus on causes that would be common to both lean codes, and even the P0430. It can sometimes take a while to track down the cause, but I've always been able to track down the cause with some perseverance.
