2001 Alero oil leak

My wifes Alero has a small oil leak. At first, I thought it was the drain plug so I replaced that, but I am still seeing oil drips on the garage floor.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Could it be the oil pan gasket leaking? And if so, how hard is that to replace on this car?
or something else?

any advice would be appreciated.

Re: 2001 Alero oil leak

Quiet possible it is the oil pan, though the V6's are known to leak out the front/rear main seals, no fun changing either.

The oil pan is tricky, and truthfuly a PITA , well on the V6. The 4 cyl isnt as tough, both require the trans to engine support brace removed another pita, cars got to love'em.

Thanks for the reply. I have a buddy who has a small car lot and we are going to put it up on his lift during the holidays and see if it is something that he/we could take on. If not, then I will visit with a mechanic. thanks again
