There's nothing wrong with a Civic, no, but no one in their right mind would take one over a Viper, imo it's inconceivable.

Re: Civic vs. Viper

BY THE WAY... lets not forget that the civic in this video is just about as modded as it could be, whereas the viper is STOCK. If you wanted to put a little money into the viper, you could whoop any civic's ass any and every day of the week.

Ahh but could you take the kids to school in the Dodge

Over here we dont get any import Vs home grown. Mainly cause Britains car industry dryed up years ago Wait thats not funny

We get FWD hatchback fans over here... Im unsure why Id take my 28 year old £300 Rear wheel drive Triumph over somethign with far less soul like a civic any day

i would be willing to bet that the viper cost 2x more than the civic( mods included).
a little money..
dont get me wrong, a viper would be sweet to have but, i was just triyng to be a little realistic. ive seen faster civics anyways.

You could get a used one. Or for the same price I would get myself a nice 1995 SC400 (V8 soarer for you foreigners) and build it up a little bit, (comes stock with a quad cam V8, 250hp) and I bet I could win.

If the VIPER had a better driver, it probably would have beaten the CIVIC? How sad is that?

If that '79 Trans Am 400 I kicked the crap out of yesterday had a better driver, he might have beaten me...or maybe not. I didn't stick around to see if he was embarrassed he lost so bad to a station wagon with 1/3 of his engine size, twice, but I'm fairly confident he had the same big question mark over his head that the guy that plopped down $80,000 for that Viper had after he lost to a $15,000 Honda with 1/4 of his engine.

If one car is faster than another, why can't some of you guys just admit it and move on? There are very fast cars of all shapes, sizes, and prices. Where it's manufactured or where its stockholders live or what model it was once based on are beside the point. In a race, the faster car or driver is simply faster. No excuses.

I think you've got it way, WAY backwards. If you put as much money into the Honda as the Viper costs, you'd have one incredible monster that no production car could touch. I'm talking well beyond Porsche Carrera GT territory. It would take an additional $30k to get the $80k Viper into that range.

In that case give us a price sheet with all the mods a civic would need to become faster than a viper and then well work it out

A newly fabricated tube chassis and aluminum body, longitudinally-mounted H22 engine with a 30 psi turbo and S2000 RWD drivetrain...
:22yikes:
Does that still count as a "Civic"? Or a better question is, is that even cheaper than a Viper?

Re: Civic vs. Viper

Dumb argument.

Viper is performance
Civic is a fuel economic family car turned semi-performance.

End of argument.

And I don't believe anyone won that race, simply because we didn't see them actually cross a line, so to say who won is a far-out statement. Just because the description is "civic beats viper" doesn't mean it did. I can't see anywhere in that video any evidence that it did, or did not.
