Koenigsegg

Got to love those small time car builders that make a big time super car. Sweden is the last place I would have expected to find a super car being built. Koenigsegg CC V-8 seems impressive from what I have read. Car & Driver did a nice article on the company in the November of 2001 issue. 0-60 in 4.1 seconds is not bad. The way the doors open is different. The styling is typical super car. The proof of how good or how bad of car this is will come with production in 2002. People wanting to get away from the usual Ferraris, Lambos, and Porsches may desire one of these $300,000 road rockets. The slow production of these will insure only a few will ever have one. It is great to see there are still cars being designed by a small group of dedicated car guys, not focus groups.

For now I think I will keep saving until I can afford the Saleen S7. It is only another $95,000. I already have $1.93 saved up.

His eyebrows are tattoos! (he has a disease which makes him lose his hair)

But yeah, it is awesome. But I think I would wait for the new flat-12 they are designing, it is a bit more prestigous than a Ford V8, no matter how powerful.

I don't think most people care what powers a car, they just want to go fast. If a lawn mower engine could make a car go 300 miles per hour most people would be happy to plunk down $350,000 (if they had it).

Hopefully Koeingsegg inspires other multi-millionares to create a super car. When I ready to sepnd $200,000-$1,000,000 I want a wide selection of cars.
