(PS: If you want a TT with a bit of aggression, why not just go for the S-line?)
I think you might have lost some credibility with the "S-line" comment :-)

The s-line offered no performance modifications, and, those cosmetic changes it did include (wheels, lowered suspension, new headlamp surrounds) became part of the standard spec. So, anyone driving a new TT coupe, is driving an S-line.

To answer your question, I drive a highly modified TT. None of those modifications are on the outside of the car, all are under the bonnet (ok, one set are on the suspension struts ;-) ).

You mentioned your car by the way, but I didn't catch what it was, apart from not a phalic extension ;-)

Cheers, Clive

To give you an idea of the sort of mods that can be fitted, not using Aunt Maud's toolkit, but by highly respected Audi tuning shops with decades of experience:

MTM 340bhp Big Turbo Conversion
APR exhaust
Forge Sports Cats
Forge FMIC
Forge DV
K&N panel filter
Mocal oil cooler
Samco Inlet and turbo hoses
KW Coilover suspension
Forge rear tie bars
Neuspeed ARBs front and rear
Powerflex poly bushes
Neuspeed shortshift
Brembo “GT” front brakes (328 x 28 drilled discs and Redstuff pads)
Tarox 300x22 drilled discs, Greenstuff pads at rear
AWE vent mount boost gauge

To say this car no longer drives like a stock 225 roadster would be a subtle understatement. It does however, apart from a small amout of lowering provided by the coilover suspension, look absolutely stock. It goes, it stops, it goes round corners. It does not have any neon lights. None of the mods are tacky. Or were cheap ;-) Audi build the car for a price and for a market segment, and to engineering compromises - absolute engine longevity, fuel consumption, noise, servicing requirements, noise and comfort levels. If you don't have all those requirements, but you do have some others, you can quite sensibly modify the car to make it meet your needs.

After I got this car I thought it would be a total chick magnet. Surprise! I have more guys come up to me and ask about the car more then the girls do lol. Seriously though I don't think it's a girl's car. any care that come's with a 6-spd and 180 hp turbo is a sports car in my book. But that didn't stay 180 hp for long you can upgrade these cars and I did as soon as I paid my car off. It all just depends on your definition of sports car mine is fast fast fast and no slow slow slow

Re: Is the TT a girls car?

My wifes car, a 2001 TT Conv Quattro, will do a 130 mph with the top down. No mods just a lead foot. She loves it and I like it. I'm 6'4" / 1.94 mtr so most sports cars are made for dwarves in my opinion. It has been good to us, we got it used off some guy who had it on a lease for about half of what he paid for it so I think it worked out nicely.

Re: Is the TT a girls car?

I think it is a guys car, and not a girls car. Out of the 6 or so TT's in my city not including mine, 5 are driven by guys and 1 is driven by a woman however the woman has the only 3.2

The TT is not the fastest sports car out there, but no doubt it is a sports car and I would'nt want any other car, you cant buy a better car for $19,500

Wow old thread. In the future, please check the last post date and if it is longer than 3 months from the current date it is considered old and should not be resurrected.
