Engine misses after reaching running speed

Hello all , first post here !
the problem : The engine starts out fine untill I reach my running speed
no matter what it is, 40,50 or 60 mph, then it feels like its missing .
I do have a check engine light on,
had code read,,,mech. said it was a EVAP purge control solenoid.
Anybody had this before ?
Does this part sound like its the cause of my problem?
any help would be appreciated !!

if the code numbers match up then that is what it is. i was thinking that or the egr valve.

Re: Engine misses after reaching running speed

well at speed an evap solenoid code wouldnt do anything to cause it to run bad since thats when the evap comes into play anyway. its possible it could be the TCC slipping since that only operates in 3/4th. but the EGR is the most likely cause but those usually stick open and cause trouble at all times. make sure its only one code. if its only one and its the evap code then you have some sort of problem that is going to be a bear to fix on your own.

it could be the purge selonoid, the ecm plans for the gas tank vapors to burn in with the air for a more volitul mixture and better gas mileage, it could be something in the circut but not the actual selonoid, had to say without seeing it, but the machanic is on to something

ps, it makes sence to be perge selonoid, it is used at running speed and not so much on accel.
