Another airbag light situation....
2002 Montana with driver/passenger front and side airbags in the seats. Started getting a BO101 code for a while. Before I got the driver side front impact sensor changed the driver side seat airbag went off one day while the van was idling in the driveway. Replaced the airbag and discovered a wire had a cut in it up in the seat and must have grounded against the frame. Replaced the driver front impact sensor at that time as well. As soon as both were replaced then I get a BO104 (discard passenger front impact sensor) code. Checked all wiring and connections and tried to do an ohm reading on the sensors but get no reading, even on the new one. Replaced the passenger side sensor and you guessed it......still getting the BO104 code. Getting very frustrated with this now. No other codes on the scanner and if I clear the 104 it instantly comes back. Used brand new GM sensors. Any ideas?????

Re: Another airbag light situation....
Well, if you replaced the sensor, with an OEM one, and you still have a problem with that circuit, you either have a wiring/connection problem at the sensor or at the SDM.....or a bad SDM...
I can't remember where the SDM(sensing diagnostic module) is located, but if it is under the passenger seat, I would be checking for water UNDER the carpet that could corrode the connections at the SDM... |

Re: Another airbag light situation....
Thanks for the info! I will check around under the seat.
Here's some new developments. I tried swapping the sensors from right to left and the dtc followed it. Went from Bo104 to Bo101. I'm thinking I may have a bad new sensor??? |
