Ecotec Oil filter cap leak!!
So I changed my sis oil on her G5 a couple of weeks ago and recently she has been noticing oil leaks. So I investigated and didn't find the leak until tonight. Thought the o ring gasket wasn't sealing good but realized that its a pinhole leak were the nut part of the cap is. My fault . Didn't have the right socket for it so I tried to be cheap and not buy the socket so I tried pliers and a 33mm wrench that I had and wasted 20 minutes. Finally broke down and bought the socket and took 30 seconds to take the filter cap off. Now it looks like I'm going to spend more for my mistake than the cost of the oil change. And I was trying to save her some
cash I looked online to try to find a price on and oil filter cap but I can't find a OE part. Napa seems to have an oil cap though http://napaonline.com/Search/Detail....298_0254101800 Is this a replacement for the ecotec motor? I know I can't do this till friday. Learned my lesson.

Re: Ecotec Oil filter cap leak!!
You probably already fixed it by now, but yes, that is the one.

Re: Ecotec Oil filter cap leak!!
I did. I went to NAPA to get one and we have a NAPA store attached to the warehouse and the guy told me that the don't stock the part and I would have to go to the dealership. I didn't argue with him and went to the dealearship which is closer anyway and got the cap and filter and o-ring for $17. Should have checked them out first anyway parts guy said it was common to do that. $36 lesson learned.
