1971 MGB Starter Run-on
Greetings.. This is my 1st post.
I have a 71 MGB, the starter was bad, so I had it rebuilt and a new solenoid installed. After installation, I hit the key, the starter cranked over, but would continue to run after the key was placed in the run position. I disconnected the key start wire from the starter, jumped the solenoid terminal to the power post of the started, starter turned over, but once again it continued to crank over after the jumper was removed... Thoughts? My guess is that the solenoid is defective, but would appreciate opinions of others. Mitch |
