Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Hello Andrea, very impresiv work as usual! Did you clearcoat the body parts befor decaling? Did you seal de decals again with acrilic clear befor clearcoting with 2K Clear?

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Hello Tibi
yes I clearcoated the purple with 2k , then decals and then 2k again. I didn't seal the decals this time to save time. I polished paint and decal with fine compound to remove every contamination. I think I will use acrilic to seal decals on the fairing as their surface is too complex to polish with compound..... |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Thanks for your extra fast replay! :-) One more question, how well sticks the 2 k Clear on the acrilic clear? You did this 2 very nice Yamaha bike's and you sealed the decals to protect them from the 2K clear. Any strange reactions in time like cracking or lifting from the surface??

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
I didn't seal the decal against the 2K . I always used 2k over decals with no problem. I used the acrilic paint before 2k to avoid any reaction of 2k with the surface below. Sometime I get holes in 2k because of some dirty as fingerprints, decal glue, tape glue etc.... It's difficult to wash the surface as there is the risk some small decal goes lost so I tried this workaround and it seems to work.... at the moment the yamaha have no paint problems..... (and I hope the same in the future.... )

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Despite the shortcomings of the decals, lovely paint job, clearcoat is perfect.

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
After a long time some progress... time goes slow with this kit.... A very thin layer of Aqua gloss to seal the surface
and then the 2k. The lower fairing need sanding and polishing so no pictures.... The front fork is near to the end.... I need to replicate the joint where the brake lines go, as fujimi show it but it's not into the box .... I placed some T2m details on the rear brake but only because the plastic ones broken... and they are beautiful and some carbon decal on the front light with some cabling.. The next problem will be to place the fairing on the frame as the fairing is too closeand fits everywhere with the risk of breaking and scratching everything.... I think to place 2 cardboard on the frame side e push the fairing over them in this way..... |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Beautifully done Andrea - the paint and decals look very good and you have an ingenious way of not scratching or breaking of parts.
I will have to remember that tip for when I have to stretch the body-work over a bike. I have a MotoGP ZX-RR about 70% finished and I need to get that one done and post it. I think your ZX-10R is the best one so far. Adrian started one a while back, but I have not seen a posting update in a while. Cheers John |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Hi Andrew, awesome job so far, very good paint and varnish. Just one question, what is the carbon fiber that you used to make the lighthouse, both external and internal?

@John18 usually side fairings are separated parts and attacched with screws, this is the first bike I need to make this workaround.... |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
To make the display I didn't use the decal but painted the glass from the inner side with a grey/green mix. Probably is a little bit too dark....
The handlebars and some lights on the gauge |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Andrea - how did you get the "glass" like appearance for the small lights at the top and sides of the gauge unit??
This looks just like the Aim "Mychron 3 gold" data acquisition system that is on my 125cc Shifter Kart Excellent effect John |

Re: Kawasaki ZX-10R EVA01 Fujimi
Hello John
painted the gauge with x-18, covered x-18 with aqua gloss, and hand painted enamel chrome silver into the recessed lights. Cleaned the borders with a cotton swab with enamel thinner, and painted the colored ones with clear alclad.... |
