This thing has a twin turbo inline 6 with 730 hp. 0-60 takes 2.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 mph dead. i think this should get the credit it deserves as the fastest road car ever, and i bet it leaves the McLaren for dead through the corners

Hmmm. Every time I see this comment I keep remind myself (and others ) that the Dauer 962 is barely homolagated in any countries while the McLaren F1 was fully homologated in the EU and the US.

I hate you guys :P

Just kidding, I'll just have to content myself with Porsches and our ridiculously overpowered domestic hotrods... Hey, that's not so bad!

um....if XOTech were here.....i recently, just like 2 days ago, asked him about this car and he replied with....

Viper,

It is an interesting car, no question. It is different for sure. The car has yet to be tested to the figures they are promoting. It is clear that they are trying to better the McLaren (as everybody does). The Estimated top speed of 242.4mph is only 2mph more than the McLaren. But even the Estimated 0-60 times are slower than those tested for the McLaren (2.9-3.2s). Regardless, until the car can prove it can achieve those speeds and performances, nothing can truely be compared.

I am not convinced the car has adequate aerodynamic research to truely achieve the very high speeds above 220mph. I am an Aerodynamics Engineer by trade and am quite familiar with high speed automotive aerodynamics.

It appears that there is significant enough interest in the car that it may actually make it to production. It is hard to say.

Let me know if there are any other questions. It might be prudent to start a Forum on this very topic if there isn't one already.

so dont start to think that this car can beat the Mclaren yet, anyways isn't the Veyron going to be a production car?
