#35 GTS for sale

Bought this about a year ago, got it set up, fixed up and engine rebuilt and haven't had time to run it on track. Kids just got into karting (and I got myself one to run with them) so time won't be getting any more plentiful. Thus, it's for sale before I even take it on its maiden voyage....

Asking $28.5K

2001 Panoz GTS Chassis #35

Chassis, brakes and suspension professionally gone through and freshened as of June 2010 (John Leverett, Dir Engineering/R&D @ Panoz did work - can provide lots of detail on work done for those serious about car).

Fresh Elan Power Products (Panoz's factory ALMS & LeMans race engine builder) 480hp @ 6,200rpm, 442lbs @ 5,000rpm, 351 cu.in. V-8 engine with Edlebrock Performer heads, Hydraulic Camshaft, Beehive Valve Springs, MSD Ignition, QuarterMaster V-Extreme Flywheel and Clutch, Headman Headers and Magnaflow Mufflers Holley 4 bbl., 750cfm Double Pump Carburetor-jetted on the dyno

Tremec TKO 5-speed manual transmission
Ford 9-inch w/True Trac with differential cooler w/integrated pump

17" BBS RX233 wheel package with Hoosier R6 tires (2 extra sets 17" BBS wheels/tires to come with car - one with rain tires and one with slicks)

Front Brakes: Brembo 4-piston hydraulic calipers 40/44mm pistons, floating 328 mm slotted & vented rotors w/Performance Friction pads
Rear Brakes: Brembo 4-piston hydraulic calipers 36/40mm pistons, floating 320 mm slotted & vented rotors w/ Performance Friction pads

(rotors need replacing soon but calipers were just rebuilt and pads are 50%+ left)

Misc:

· Stainless Steel braided fuel, oil and brake lines
· Front brake cooling ducts
· Twin aluminum racing seats
· Fittipaldi 3-spoke steering wheel with quick release
· Autometer gauges
· Cockpit adjustable brake bias control system
· ATL fuel cell with bladder located within chassis rails
· Manual Halon fire extinguisher system; driver and remote operated
· Driver and remote battery & ignition kill master switch
· Illuminating taillights, brake lights, and instrumentation
· Remote electric left and right side mirrors
· Opening doors

Car has many of the Panoz updates including:
· Long Tube Headers
· Double Shear Brackets
· Motor Mount Stiffeners
· Sway Bar Cross Tube Mod
· Quartermaster Clutch & Flywheel
Car does not have the following Panoz updates:
· 18" Wheels
· Cowl Induction
· ProForm Carb Center Section
· AER Fuel Pump & -8 Lines
· Band Clamp Style Exhaust Clamps

Have several spare body panels that will also come with the car. Have detailed records on car incl race log from prior owner etc.

Think 18" wheels were option not std equip for this year. Have 3 sets of 17" wheels including ones on car. Think others are BBS wheels as well but can't recall and they're in storage so can't look right away.

Car was previously owned (sold to me) by a company that ran executive ride programs and I think the black/silver/red was their color scheme but I could be wrong there. Was going to have it repainted but when I decided to sell I figured I'd let next person pick colors. I didn't like the red and black either. I would have painted orange and blue..... (Oct 30th not that far off!).

I know, it's good and it's bad all at the same time. But it makes them one of the best deals out there today. (IMO)

Re: #35 GTS for sale

Got decent deal when I bought it. Just looking to get out what I put in. May find time to drive once or twice in the mean time. I've seen a few pricier GTS' out there recently. Feel like this will be good value for a safe, reliable and cheap to operate track car. Should be pretty quick with rebuilt motor too...

Agree on paint job. Was quoted less than $2k to refinish as long as relatively simple color scheme.

Re: #35 GTS for sale

I was actually looking at this car last year when it was on e-bay. Missed it in the auction and wound up with another GTS.

I think the values are all over the place based upon condition and the buyer.

Good luck with the sale.

Re: #35 GTS for sale

Thanks. We'll see. Haven't had time to list anywhere else yet. I'm sure it will take some time to sell given limited market.

Re: #35 GTS for sale

Going to pull a flyer together here shortly but would like to try and move this so I've cut the price some. It will go on ebay and other sites at Thanksgiving time when I have a bit more time to screw around with ads. In the mean time if you know anyone that wants a great deal on a GTS with a fresh motor, let them know.
