Cracked Pro Circuit pipe
My GF's CR125 is remarkably loud, and rattles like it's inside a tin can. So naturaly I take off in entirely the wrong direction and take the power valve apart to see whats wrong..... nothing.... but when I put it all back together and properly seal up the pipe to the jug I see whisps of smoke coming from the front bend of the pipe, a stainless steel Pro Circuit. Further investigation reveals that there is a small ding that has formed a crack, which has spread nearly from seam to seam around the circumference (on the front of the pipe going around nearly half way. It terminates just before the heat affected area of the seam welds)
So, anyone have any idea how to fix this? Can I weld Stainless with my regular MIG wire welder and regular wire? If not, who what type of shops would do this type of work? (welding thin stainless) How much should it cost? Any helpfull input would be appreciated. |

Re: Cracked Pro Circuit pipe
you can use jb weld for temp but i would just get a new pipe and ya you can use a mig but no you can use regular wire you have to get stainless wire and if your not a good welder or the welder is a peice then youl burn holes thru the metal and then itl be wurs

Re: Cracked Pro Circuit pipe
thanks anyways... I have a friend who works for a major airline, he brought it to work and had it welded up really nice (TIG)... it works great now.
