Shifter Linkage
I have a 96 Saturn SL. The other day for no reason the shifter quit working, could not get it out of first gear. When I investigated I found that there was a plastic bushing at the bottom of the shifter that went into the linkage cable. It apparently had happened to previous owners because there were broken zip ties around the bottom of the shifter and a fresh package of zip ties underneath the console. The Chevy dealer wants $215 for a new cable, but I have found replacement parts on the internet that claim to hold the shifter into the linkage cable without having to use zip ties at all. Has anyone used any of those parts of the internet?
Thanks, |
