Question 2003 sonoma4.3 4×4 140,000

Had friend help me change intake gaskets... now wont start.. starting to think tho .. is there any reason he shouldve removed the distributor to to change intake gaskets? It been a week without my truck and im about to tweak.

The position sensor in the base of the distributor is used as a cam position input to the PCM, so it is essential to install the distributor in the proper position to time the ignition and fuel injector pulses.
