Monogram C4 Corvette ZR-1 1:24

Well, after a very long time, I thought I should get all of those nearly completed builds out of them boxes and update my sig. so here's another one from my archives.

very bad WIP here...

Built like most of mine are, box stock with the odd wire here and there.
Paint isn't as good as it could be, especially along the doors of the car and I hadn't/haven't found decent Chevrolet badges for it yet.

I went through a phase of buying two of every kit and diving into one of each of them as a practice run and this is one that I have every intention of building again soon and taking proper time and care over it.
It's a beautiful kit of a true icon and fits nicely into my Lotus obssession.
If only there were more 1:24 Corvette kits.

...just noticed that I have the rear wheels the wrong way around...
can't seem to be able to get them off now that they're fixed.
Isn't that just the most annoying thing?

Re: Monogram C4 Corvette ZR-1 1:24

Really nice work! You've pointed out a couple of things (wheels <center caps have corvette logo>, roof should be gloss <it's a translucent plexiglass that looks gloss black from the outside>), the only things I can see left to do would be the rear quarter panel lights/markers (red/clear), the door handles (black) and the third brake light on the rear panel. Very nice treatment of the front lenses and the badges!!! For a change, there were gold plated front and rear emblems, and corvette lettering, that were very popular (and expensive) too.

A few updated photos.
After a few tense minutes of rocking the rear wheels, I managed to get them off and switch them around.
Also, foiled and painted in the rear 3/4 lights.
Gave it a quick re-polish and back into the conservatory for a few snaps while there's some sun inbetween the rain. Still a bit dark though.
