sudden shutoff

I have a 1985 buick electra park avenue with low miles. Recently it has started to suddenly shut off while driving. After a few minutes sitting on the side of the road it will turn over sputter for a minute or two and then run fine for the rest of the drive. I just got it back from my local mechanic and he can't find anything wrong with it but it did it again just a few miles down the road. I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

Re: sudden shutoff

Old thread, but when this happens you should check for spark and/or injector pulse, of course someone has to crank it over while you do this.
