screaching noise on left turn

I have a 2000 saturn LS1. When I make left hand turns the car makes a loud screeching noise. I have less than 92,000 miles on it.
It sounds like something is dragging against the road, but that's not it. It has gotten worse in that the sound remains until I turn the car to the right, or it is driven straight. Also happens (only on left turn) when the car is below 25mph, and noise goes away at freeway speeds. I had to have the transmission filter replaced yesterday because there was a massive leak, (almost all the tranny fluid was gone), and they promised that the noise would go away after replacing it. It didn't.
Can someone please help me figure this out? Thanks, Cindy
