inline fuel pump install
I know that this subject has probably been covered before but ive done searches everywhere and can not find out how to install this thing. I got the msd inline electric fuel pump. its going into a civic hb with gsr engine. i know that i can put it under the car or under the hood. What other wires do i need to get to install this and how do i wire this up to the power source. basically i need to know how install the whole thing.

If you have to ask this question, then I would highly recommend that you have a professional install the pump. You'll be cutting fuel lines and running high current wiring - a receipe for disaster in the form of a fireball.

I actually found a site that tells you how to install it. I was just debating whether to mount it under the hood or under the car. It's actually pretty straightforward.

I'm surprised that any site telling you how to install it doesn't make recommendations on where to place it
Put it as close to the OEM fuel pump as possible. Those pumps are more efficient when they're pushing, not pulling, so you'll get better flow with fewer amps. And mounting it under the hood is also a bad idea as the primary cause of fuel pump failure is overheating. Good luck - and please be careful! |
