Ok...

Comparing a V8 to a I4 is just like comparing a .22 Long Rifle to a .50 Assault Rifle...I mean come on more then Double the displacement. I still think that single fact should keep you from speaking any other words. This arguement is pretty stupid. Im pretty sure a RB25DET could make more power then a LS1 or LT1 if it flowed the volume of air that a LS1 or LT1 does. Since theres only a certain yield of Gas to Air mixture that can be yielded out of a 2.5L engine. Heres another thing I dont think Domestic owners will ever ever understand. From my stand point making a car with low Displacement go as fast or faster than your almighty 5.7L of goodness and 50 yr old engineering is f'ing exactly what im looking for. Ok how about this you start building a LT1 V8 240 and when its all done you jsut tell us how much it cost? "Thank You and goodnight"<----LOL i love that

It runs 11.93@114 on street tires. 30mpg on the highway, 356rwhp

that runs faster then mynismo's car in the 1/4 mile, I think he had the fastest 240sx on this board.
Wrong. MyNismo trapped 118mph. his car is way faster. He also made clearly more horsepower.

Stock T28 BB turbo on an SR has trapped at 116mph.

Stock SRs push 400whp+ on stock internals. Couple of guys down south even have reported 500whp on stock internals.

Nobody cares about V8s in here. Go into the F body or other V8 praisin' forums and talk about that crap.

Sure it started as a 240sx v8 swap, but it quickly turned into a sausage fest of V8 vs KA talk.

Go talk V8s somewhere else other than here. This thread is left open to attempt to get back on topic for the thread starter. Poor guy...

You know the worst part about this little bragging session is? When its the other way around, there is always some excuse. Always.

How about stupid

Yeah Chevy in a Nissan, sounds dumb to me. Pain in the butt too, new motor mounts, driveshaft, etc. Plus you'll probably have to get one of those frickin ugly induction hoods. Wow, and an LS-1, definitely not lighter than a KA or SR. More metal=more weight, I don't care if it's aluminum block or not. In order to get the same weight distribution you'd have to mount the LS-1 in the firewall. Not to say it doesn't have it's problems too, but if you really want a V-8 swap go with a VH45DE!!

Yeah... Im wondering how it would affect the weight distribution though... The LT1 transmission which I would assume to be the most logical choice in transmissions is extremely light compared to Nissans. I can Lift one myself, whereas I have to drag my SR tranny around. I suppose of you made an Adapter Plate and used an RB25/VG30 you could add weight but shift it back in the car...

But Nobodys done that... and Nobody whos done the swap has posted a tested weight distribution. And then Most of the people preaching about how well V8s work in 240SXs have yet to get them running and then run a good time.

RB tranny's are super light. my friends RB25DET which came in last week...the tranny can be picked up by one person on one side and one on the other using one hand each easily.

Re: 240sx with small block v8?

Eh, I forgot about the Camaro... I was thinking all the LS had was transaxles...

I still doubt the LS is lighter... the SR is 490lbs including Transmission, Tranny Crossmember, and Accesories...

Re: 240sx with small block v8?

LS1 in a Nissan, cool build. I am doing the same thing in one of my GTRs except I am using a stroked 351W with a T76. Not sure how fast the thing will go, but with that same engine, my friends have gone low 9s. Mine will not be that quick, but it should make for a very interesting ride.
