93 Sentra 1.6 misfiring

A week ago the car started to misfire, then it cleared up and ran fine again for a few days then it started again, I Did all the usual things, checked the plugs, # 4 not working, swapped plugs #4 still not working, #4 plug is sparking when held against a ground attached to the #4 wire, bought new distributer cap and rotor, did not help, new fuel filter, did compression check, 160 psi all across, listened to the injectors with a stethescope, they are all clicking, still that #4 cyclinder is dead. I pulled the valve cover off and it is clean as a whistle in there and everything is moving as it should, what have I missed?????? Car has 130K miles, oil was changed every 3K. Help me please.

How do you check for faulty fuel injector with your basic DIY tools?
In this car I am assuming it is not sequential and all the injectors fire at the same time

well, you could pull the spark plug and look into the cylinder while you cycle the key without starting the car...if you see fuel being dumped in then the injector is bad. also check the resistance of the injector coil. thats about all you can do with your average tools.

Have you though about purchasing some top shelf fuel injection cleaner "bg" good stuff , had a firebird 5.7 tpi , cleaned fuel system nice and cheaper than buying injectors , worth a try
