2006 Ody: Vehicle / braking shudder
06 Ody
58k miles Has anyone else experienced this with their 2006 Ody: When braking from under 60 MPH (approximate), no problem. If I am braking from anywhere over 60 MPH, the brakes seem to shudder (no pulsing on the pedal), and the steering wheel shudders quite severely until the vehicle speed is under 60 MPH. I have recently had new tires put on (and balanced) so the issue is not the tires. It could need an alignment, but there are no other symptoms to indicate an alignment issue (steering wheel cocked, slopping steering, etc.). The brakes are good - I guess it could be a warped rotor / drum, but you would think it would shudder all of the time and not just at higher speeds. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks. Matt |

Re: 2006 Ody: Vehicle / braking shudder
how good are the front brakes, from my expierence (37yrs.) souunds like you have either a warped rotor or uneven wear which would be more noticable at braking at higher speeds, just my thoughts.

The front brakes are good (pads). I obviously cannot tell if the rotors are warped by inspection, without a micrometer.
Thanks. Matt |
