Re: What is your favourite japanese car maker?

definitely nissan for me, of course i love all the Z cars, they also make some pretty sporty sedans. toyota is a good fwd reliable company, same with honda. mitsubishi ruined the eclipse and the lancer is ok. mazda ruined the rx-8 and they really have nothing else sporty (unless you count the miata).

There is the early 90s galant vr4 that was in the us, awd 4g63t, not a slow car, basically an evo. I would have to say my favorite is mitsu as well

Nobody skipped it, just most people like Nissan more that's all. Obviously you like them. All good. Even I listed Nissan, not so much for anything they make now as I think the G35, 350Z, Titan, Frontier, Armada, Murano, all are uglier than hell. Though the older Nissans I love all z cars up to the 300Z my ATF, hardbody trucks, older Skylines, yeah I love older Nissans.

Just a side note yesterday I saw a Nissan Moreno parked in front of an AMC Gremlin, both facing the same way. And I'll be damned if they didn't have the same lines!

While I have tremendous respect for cars like the 300zx, S13, Supra, 2nd-gen Eclipse and early Miata's, I'm a Honda fan, mostly because I prefer all-motor to forced induction. The ability to build a high compression, high hp/liter motor that winds out to 9000 and still manages to be reliable is impressive.

Re: What is your favourite japanese car maker?

Toyotas, cause they are well-built, dependable vehicles that will last you forever...had an 86 Celica GTS that went to 200k before the engine blew...

sorry 510s are badass too, they are the precursor to the sentra/primera line. same with fairlady roadsters, precursor to the Z cars.

my rank
1. nissan
2. toyota
3. honda
4. (tie) subaru/mazda
5. tommy kaira (only this low because they have 2 cars)
6. mitsubishi (nothing they make, or have ever made, really excites me, apart from the evo)
7. ASL (only one car)

also who could argue with the r390 road car? no other japanese automaker comes close. even today nothing is close. when the new skyline and new lexus "supra" supercar comes out thats the first ones thatll even come close.
